Awesome Websites

Privacy Policy

How Awesome Websites handles your data. Last updated June 2026.

The short version

We collect the minimum we need to run the publication: an email address if you subscribe to the newsletter or create a member account, and anonymous, aggregated analytics about how pages are used. We don't sell your data.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, we store your email address solely to send you the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time — we delete unsubscribed addresses from the active list.

Member accounts

Contributors sign in with a one-time email link (passwordless). We store your email address, your display name, and the drafts and articles you create. We never see or store a password. You can request deletion of your account and content at any time by emailing [email protected].

Cookies & analytics

Signing in sets a small session cookie so you stay logged in — it is essential and is not used for tracking. We use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics to understand which articles are read and to improve the site. These analytics do not identify you individually.

Third parties

We rely on a small number of service providers — email delivery, hosting, and analytics — who process data only on our behalf. Outbound links to other websites are governed by those sites' own privacy policies.
